To say that Sherri has made an enormous impact on nursing at UWMC would be an understatement. She has provided transformational leadership for over twenty years. Sherri has a unique style that brings together a vast knowledge base and a creative persistence to make change for the better. She has a long history here and has experience trouble-shooting in our complex environment, and that is a huge asset. She isn’t someone who looks for the spotlight. She steadfastly shows up and does the work, supporting her managers and peers. For example, Sherri was a central leader in our COVID response. She took on the role of Operations Chief during COVID and also filled in as Incident Commander. She carefully addressed issues as they came up and worked hard to share information with Nurse Managers and staff. Sherri has been a mentor to me for many years, and she is a DAISY Nurse Leader!
