Autumn made this time in our life as relaxing as possible due to her presence and knowledge. Her compassion for our family was amazing!
Autumn has learned a new role this year, attending deliveries, stabilizing newborns, and in this role shift she has always been positive and hard-working. Autumn Cox has been an integral member of our newly formed charge nurse crew for the Mother-Baby Unit. She has been both a leader amongst her peers and a willing team member. Our volumes within Women’s Services have increased dramatically, and with the merging of the nursery and postpartum to create a Mom Baby Unit this has been quite a challenge.

One very busy Friday our L&D department was full, including triage, with more patients waiting. It was a challenge to ensure bed flow was not a problem. Autumn took ownership of the situation she took charge to organize the assignments, arrange for more help, proactively planning, and made sure the night shift had everything they needed. Her leadership skills were very apparent, she has proven to be innovative and creative, and works well under pressure, staying calm and level-headed. Autumn has truly made this transition to couplet care a much smoother experience and has stepped up in ways that go above and beyond her role as a bedside nurse.
A patient’s family DAISY nomination stated: “As first-time parents, there were many things we were unsure of. From the first time, we met Autumn she went out of her way to help us. She spent time, not only telling us but also showing us how to care for our son. She was always encouraging and very knowledgeable about every topic. She was very dependable and was consistently available for help. She made this time in our life as relaxing as possible due to her presence and knowledge. Her compassion for our family was amazing! She is the main reason why we will have our other children here if we are blessed! Thank you, Autumn!”
