Joyce was by my side the entire time. She hugged me and just let me cry all while making sure that the code ran smoothly.
I heard them call “Code Blue” in the ICU over the loudspeaker and my heart dropped. Joyce, two other individuals, and I ran upstairs. When we arrived, CPR was in progress, my family member was in that bed. It is so hard to explain your emotions seeing your family member being coded. Joyce was by my side the entire time. She hugged me and just let me cry all while making sure that the code ran smoothly. She hugged me again with joy when we got pulses back and again even tighter when my family member lost pulses again. Joyce defines our values as an institution and as a human. She was compassionate, efficient, and most of all she made me feel like I had family support before my family arrived. Thank you Joyce for everything you did for me, my family, and my family member. You are amazing, never change.
