Our dad was admitted to the hospital and we have been here for 16 days. He has Parkinson's and dementia. He has had a very rough time recovering from surgery. With his dementia, we have to constantly remind him what is going on, what care is next, and what all the tubes and drains are doing. Lauren requested to be his nurse while she is here. I am so relieved to know when he cannot remember why he has all these tubes, IVs, and people "bugging" him, he has a familiar face to see. Lauren has taken her time to explain to our dad what is going on with his care over and over. Never have I seen her get frustrated or short. My dad respects and trusts Lauren. She has gone above and beyond what her role is to make him feel heard, comfortable, and most importantly, safe.
