Kerry specifically selected earphones that had a small speakerphone that we were able to tuck up under patient BIPAPS and oxygen masks so that the patient could speak a bit more clearly to the family.
COVID19 hit us all hard. One of the biggest struggles was seeing patients in the hospital for days on end without visitations from family members. Even worse was seeing patients in their last moments without family by their side. Eventually, some weeks into the pandemic, nursing staff started utilizing iPads to facilitate patient-family communication, but it was often difficult; sounds muffled by room ventilation and oxygen delivery equipment. Kerry took it upon herself to think of a solution and purchase earphones. These earphones allowed patients to hear their loved ones easier. In addition, Kerry specifically selected earphones that had a small speakerphone that we were able to tuck up under patient BIPAPS and oxygen masks so that the patient could speak a bit more clearly to the family. It was such a simple solution, but one that took true and genuine patient concern.
