Nurse Jym acknowledge my rights and asked for consent in case they need to have it installed again in the future. This shows that Nurse Jym has compassion.
I would like to thank the nurses in St Luke’s BGC for providing an exceptional level of care to their patients during this tough time. As one of those who have contracted Covid-19, apart from worrying about the virus itself, I was also overwhelmed by the thought of the stigma it brings. The nurses here did their best in providing me comfort and removing all ill thoughts which positively impacted my battle against this disease. First, among the many is Nurse Jym, a nurse who embodies professionalism and empathy. I would like to commend his effort in assuring me of my rights as a patient. I had a camera installed in my room. It made me feel uncomfortable. I asked a few nurses and got the same response. That there is a reason for the camera and it is protocol to not remove it. However, when it was Nurse Jym’s turn to take over my care, I raised my concern with him regarding the camera and he quickly actioned my request. He explained why the camera was there and even reminded me of my rights and entitlements as a patient. He even asked me if I am happy to have it reinstalled again if and when it is required by the hospital which I agreed. The pleasant conversation with him made me feel comfortable. The main point is consent, Nurse Jym acknowledge my rights and asked for consent in case they need to have it installed again in the future. This shows that Nurse Jym has compassion and is concerned as regards patients’ rights and privacy. I salute you!!
