Charlotte did this on her own, without me asking, just because she is that kind and because she has that level of compassion for these sick patients.
I am a travel nurse on my first travel assignment. Every single shift I have had the pleasure of working with Charlotte has been a learning opportunity for me. She consistently demonstrates teamwork, always offering assistance when asked, and more often without being asked. For example, one shift I was very busy with multiple admits and had a very sick patient. Without being asked, Charlotte started my Acetylcysteine on my patient while I was busy transporting another patient upstairs to the inpatient unit. She did this on her own, without me asking, just because she is that kind and because she has that level of compassion for these sick patients.
Another instance: Charlotte knew a very dehydrated patient was coming to my room from triage and without me even asking she began to set up for an IV, helping me gather supplies so I would be ready to receive this sick patient and treat him as quickly as possible. On another morning, right before shift change, a physician had ordered a urine culture via straight catheterization on a patient. It was 20 minutes before she was supposed to leave, but when I asked her for help with holding, she jumped up without a second thought and helped me get this done before our shift was over. These are only a few of the countless examples I have of her compassion, ability to recognize a sick patient and jump to their assistance, or her pure consideration for others and eagerness to help.
