Dr. D'Errico promotes the strength of each student while encouraging each to work through the areas they need to improve with positive feedback and support.
A Ph.D. faculty member is often overlooked for their encouragement and inspiration. Dr. D'Errico is my dissertation committee chair and has been instrumental in helping this dissertation process. She has continued to be encouraging and gives me hope when things seemed hopeless. She has allowed me to cry and go through the emotions of this process all the while making sure that I stay focused on the finish line. Dr. D'Errico shares her knowledge in a way that gives hope and encouragement. She is the reason I have secured funding for my dissertation making her CV available to me at a moment's notice. She has the ability to sense when I am feeling down, discouraged, and overwhelmed and then has the perfect words that I need to hear to pull through. Dr. D'Errico has been my advisor for the last 7 years and we have built an amazing mentoring relationship that will last a lifetime. She has also been my professor in several courses and has pushed and challenged me. She has also shown me my strength in my ability to conduct neonatal research. I have been successful in the Ph.D. program in part because of Dr. D'Errico. She deserves recognition for being an amazing professor advocate and mentor.

In a time of uncertainty regarding nursing education and professional development, Dr. D'Errico sat with me 1:1 and genuinely prayed with me and for me. She was honest with me about my capacity to improve and how I could set better boundaries with my family, colleagues, and students. For the first time during my doctoral journey, I felt seen, heard, and truly loved by a faculty member whom I may have disappointed. Her grace and kindness demonstrated God's love here on earth as well as modeled the nurse faculty I hope to become in the future.
