When they faced obstacles, Judy would always approach them from a practical, levelheaded standpoint which made them comfortable.
I received a call from the sister of our home care patient who wanted to ensure that the nurse who cared for her brother was recognized for the extraordinary care she exemplified during her time with the patient. The sister went on to explain that this nurse demonstrates the BayCare values of Trust, Dignity, Respect, Excellence, and Responsibility. This nurse went above and beyond in the care of the patient, answering phone calls after hours to put their mind at ease about his condition. She stated that the nurse not only treated her brother from a medical standpoint but also from a holistic standpoint. She did not just fixate on one condition but took all diagnoses and medications into consideration. She demonstrated patience in teaching the patient about his medication and conditions and made sure they understood the correct ways to manage his care. She stated that when they faced obstacles this nurse would always approach them from a practical, levelheaded standpoint which made them comfortable. The sister stated that this nurse was by far the best nurse she has encountered in any medical setting to date. They emphatically wanted her to know how much they appreciate her passion, knowledge, and care during this difficult time.
