Aya gave us so much more confidence that by the time she was done we were all very comfortable and confident that K is safe and in good hands.
We came to the American Hospital of Dubai from Kenya for neuro-rehabilitation for our son K. On the second night of our stay we met the one person that changed our entire experience and that was Aya. She came into the room full of confidence, love, optimism, and she showered us with care like no one ever has since K's accident. She explained everything before she did it and she did everything with the utmost care and love. She was beyond helpful and caring not only to K but to me as well.

One of the most significant things she did was support and care for me as much as she cared for my son. A few days ago she walked in for her night shift and K was saturated and not even the Respiratory Therapist could get his saturation up. As soon as Aya walked in she started doing something I would like to call Aya Magic. She grabbed that suction tube and suctioned K so well she got so many secretions out that his saturation went up so much he didn't need to have his oxygen increased, it became the opposite she was able to reduce his oxygen need. She was explaining every move she made and every choice she took and no matter what the monitor was showing in numbers she did not hesitate twice before doing what was best for K; she alleviated our fears, and she eased our anxiety and she gave us so much more confidence that by the time she was done we were all very comfortable and confident that K is safe and in good hands. I left that night knowing that my son is in the most caring hands that I can ever find. She is not just our nurse, she is our daughter, she is family now, and when we leave we will be heartbroken for having to say goodbye to part of our family and a piece of my heart.
