I am truly comforted by knowing Eric will be present on the next RRT, code blue, or any high-stress situation.
Eric started at this hospital as a new grad nurse in 2010. He started his career in the medical/surgical unit, to be specific in unit one. As a new nurse, he demonstrated his natural leadership with his team. Eric works closely with his team and his charges, and in a short time, he was promoted as a charge nurse in unit one. Being a charge nurse in unit one, he excelled and showed strong leadership with his team and the other charge nurses. He has helped, trained, and guided many nurses throughout the years of his career. His leadership, professionalism, maturity, self-confidence, and ability to resolve any emergency situation qualifies him to be a nursing supervisor. As a nursing supervisor working with administration, Eric assisted in improving operations and teamwork. He had developed a good working relationship with his team and the other nurses.
In healthcare, one can encounter frequent situations in which a patient's life is on the line. When code blues or rapid responses are called, adrenaline is high, and people react differently to situations. During the COVID-19 pandemic initial waves, code blues and rapid responses were being called multiple times a day. During these high-stress situations, things can easily get out of hand. Eric always managed to keep a cool, level head, influencing everyone in the RRT or code blue. Eric's ability to remain calm and make level-headed decisions has always been something I have admired. In fact, I can attest to the influence Eric has had on me during these situations. I am truly comforted by knowing Eric will be present on the next RRT, code blue, or any high-stress situation. Eric possesses the compassion, empathy, trust, and love for the profession and his staff. He goes above and beyond and serves as a positive role model for new nurses. He is a true leader!
