Georgie called every local restaurant to get this patient stone crab and paid for it out of her own pocket.
One of our patients who was in Sarasota for vacation ended up having a stroke and then admitted to IRF. Near the end of his stay, the patient mentioned how badly he wanted stone crab before he had to go back home. Georgie called every local restaurant to get this patient stone crab and paid for it out of her own pocket. She really does go above and beyond for her patients.

Georgetta is a kind and caring individual not only for her patients but her peers. She goes above and beyond every single shift she works. She will stay late to help with admissions even if she has to return the next morning. Georgetta is selfless for all around her and I could not think of a more rewarding nurse to receive this award.

Georgetta’s dedication to her patients is passionate. She takes her position as a nurse seriously as she knows she plays a vital role in her patients’ health and life each day. Georgetta gives her patients hope, love, trust, and guidance. This is her true passion and she shows it every day.

Georgetta always goes out of her way to help others and to make sure that everyone feels appreciated. She is always picking up shifts, calling peers to pick up shifts, helps with new policies and procedures, and recently asked to be the Chair of our UPC.

We would like to nominate Georgetta for The DAISY Award because she stands for everything for which it is meant. She treated my son on IRF like he was her own. She is caring and compassionate on every level. She goes above and beyond for her peers and her patients. Please know she is a wonderful asset to SMH. You should be Proud!
