In every area there is a different level of management for Lita. I love her style and learning every day from her the compassion and patience and how to handle difficult situations without stress.
Lita Tsai is a whole leader that proved dedication, extraordinary attention to detail of her creating our own unique processes to take care of all the nursing units, and other all services. So many times she went beyond her time to provide us spiritual leaders social workers even though it is weekend and sometimes she works at night. As one of the charge nurses I feel so comfortable when Lita Tsai is our house supervisor. She is one of the best leaders I have ever worked with.

One day I was having difficulties with a patient and family in their end of life care as charge nurse on Sunday. Lita personally came to our floor and comforted all the nurses and very quickly contacted Chaplin service social workers in no time everything was so smooth, and all the nurses had tears to see what our leader had to give us. I never see her get upset or anxious, but always a smiley face with everyone. She always engages bedside nursing staffs, managers, pharmacy staffs, and physicians, all other support staffs in house, respects everyone equally without having problems. Her focus on inter-professional collaboration; we are able to deliver good service to our patients and families.

In every area there is a different level of management for Lita. I love her style and learning every day from her the compassion and patience and how to handle difficult situations without stress. I am so happy I met her in this path. Anytime when we have code or rapid response, she comes and hands the things to us, calls and talks to the family if needed; I have witnessed so many times her show compassion to the family members with natural tears of sadness. That itself comforts so many loved ones going through the difficult times. Lita will put in countless hours to ensure that not one staff, patient, or family will suffer in emergency situations. She always shares her stories and experiences and makes all the nurses valued and more respect her. City of Hope is so proud to have her. She always showed that City of Hope is her home.

I never can forget the day she told us her son passed away and the next day she is working as a supervisor. We all were there for her, she mentioned, “my son is in peace,” she is sad, “but COH needs me more that weekend” and her City of Hope family gives her comfort, and this way she distracts herself and takes care of her work home. I really salute her efforts and compassion toward our City of Hope family. I feel so blessed to have a friend, leader, mentor, and overall a nice soul where we all can rest our shoulders like a mother.
