Brekkan was Johnny-on-the-spot in all instances.
My wife came into the hospital at 6:30 in the morning with GI bleeding. Brekkan was just taking over the shift. She informed us she was in orientation, and it was her 6th shift. I was a bit concerned with her inexperience, but over the next two days, it became the best nursing experience we have ever had. She was Johnny-on-the-spot in all instances. The expectation, as I understand it, was for her to check on us once every hour, but it was at least 3 times that many. She adjusted her communication to accommodate my wife’s temporary hearing loss. Brekkan answered all our questions in great detail and responded to each of our requests in a very timely fashion. It was just an excellent experience all the way around.
