Mrs. Bushnell's love for nursing, her students, coworkers, and clients is contagious. She has a magnetic kind of personality that everyone wants to be around.
Mrs. Bushnell is the absolute best instructor I have ever had. She was made for her role in the nursing department at VU. She is knowledgeable, confident, caring, trustworthy, kind, warm, compassionate, friendly, helpful, intelligent, respectful, client-focused, detail-oriented, encouraging, and honestly one of the best humans that I've ever met. Mrs. Bushnell's love for nursing, her students, coworkers, and clients is contagious. She has a magnetic kind of personality that everyone wants to be around. She has encouraged me and boosted my confidence in myself and my abilities in one of the most pivotal times in my life being in school. She wants all of her students to succeed in nursing, but she will not let client care suffer in any way. Mrs. Bushnell has taught from the get-go that nursing is very important and very serious and if we aren't careful, people can get hurt. She corrects in a way that doesn't humiliate, but rather reinforces what is accurate. Having Mrs. Bushnell as my instructor for Fundamentals, my first semester of nursing school is one of the best experiences I've had. I love nursing and I love nursing school and she is a huge reason why. I have been able to be myself and nerd out on school and she just encourages me forward. She sees the potential people have and calls it out. She believes in her students but makes sure they gain the knowledge and experience to be careful, effective future nurses. Mrs. Bushnell pushes us out of our comfort zones in the best ways possible. She wants us to grow as people to reach heights we never could imagine. No one is more deserving of recognition than Mrs. Bushnell. She is a gem of a woman and a nurse and she's totally in her element as a nursing instructor. She is actively equipping the future generations of nurses to be awesome nurses. She's my hero all day.
