Jen made it a point to see me every day, and she was such a breath of fresh air when I was feeling my worst.
My story is a long one, and Jennifer was the only one that was able to keep me sane during my entire journey. I came in for what was supposed to be a simple procedure. I met Jen that morning with my doctor before I had surgery and was a ball of nerves. She just had a calming way about her and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. I was able to go home the same day and she called the next day to make sure everything was going okay. Unfortunately, I had some challenges. Jen was always the nurse that had the answers and if she didn't have them, she was going to find them- and quickly. As a nurse myself it was very hard to be the patient and not able to fix things as quickly as I wanted to. Jen went above and beyond the call of duty, from calling to make sure all of the homecare needs were met so I wouldn't miss my kids’ Halloween, to making sure my needs were met by the nurses, and the list goes on. I could write for days. I can't tell you what a blessing it was to have someone like her in my corner to make sure all of my needs were met. To top it off, she made it a point to see me every day, and she was such a breath of fresh air when I was feeling my worst. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award. She is the epitome of a great nurse and what all nurses should strive to be.
