Nurse Kelly came in and saw my wife was super scared. She came back after leaving and told us she was off for a few days but she switched her schedule over for us.
First of all, Nurse Kelly is the greatest nurse of all time. We had 3 babies at Peace Health. And no nurse compares to Nurse Kelly’s greatness! We met Nurse Kelly on the second child. And let’s just say it was like she was our grandma. She wasn’t like all other nurses. She was like having the best grandma taken care of your wife, with her nurse skills.
Nurse Kelly was on top of things. She was always there. Kind. Compassionate. My wife had a few hours before everyone thought the baby was coming. But she told the nurse she thought the baby was coming. Nurse Kelly literally just checked her and she wasn’t even close to being dilated. 5 min after she checked my wife was like Nurse Kelly, babe is coming right now. Nurse Kelly was, we just checked you. My wife said check again, I promise the baby is here. Nurse Kelly checks and the baby was right there. Nurse Kelly the calmest, most organized person, grappled the phone and calmly says doctor the baby is here. The doctor told her that she was busy. Nurse Kelly was calm showed no worry, had the whole thing ready and got it all prepped, and was ready just in case the doctor couldn’t make it. Let me tell you all, no one in my life worked as fast and calm as her. That is a skill. The doctor popped in at the right time and the baby was there. She did all of it in under 10 minutes.
Our 3rd baby was super unexpected. The wife had some rough issues and the baby came super early. When we got to the hospital we asked if Nurse Kelly was on staff. She actually was just leaving. Nurse Kelly came in and saw my wife was super scared. She came back after leaving and told us she was off for a few days but she switched her schedule over for us.
This was an intense pregnancy not only because the baby was early, but my wife also had some issues and then my mom, who was in town to watch all the kids, ended up in the hospital. So I couldn’t be there for the whole thing. Well, Nurse Kelly saw my wife was afraid and scared because she didn’t have anyone there. Nurse Kelly loved her so much she switched her schedule again so she could comfort my wife through the whole thing. She didn’t stop there, my wife had surgery while in and Nurse Kelly did that through the whole process to watch my wife and hold her hand. Let’s just say that Nurse Kelly is a superhero of love for moms and dads and these little humans. When I think of the love of Jesus, she is living her God-given purpose.
