Melissa sat on the side of my bed and just hugged me until I was ok. She told me to get it all out. Say what I needed to say.
I can’t pick one specific situation where Melissa went above and beyond to care for my family and me because she cared for us like family whenever she was in the room. I was admitted for a couple of different surgeries and being someone who has had really no health issues in the past, I had a lot of anxiety. Melissa was always there to reassure me that I was in the absolute best hands and that she would be there to help me through it all. I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and was fortunate enough to get Melissa a couple of different days during my stay. She always made sure I was comfortable and was there to support my family during the times we had to hear some tough news. Sanford is truly lucky to have Melissa as their employee. My family and I will forever be grateful that she was a part of our care team.

Melissa always went above and beyond her duties. This was a very traumatic time for me. There was one day in particular that I needed help getting through. I was having a hard day. I was trying to understand why this happened to me. Why that lady had to hit [my car]. She passed away and I was so angry because I didn’t have anyone to yell at. I was breaking down that day. She sat on the side of my bed and just hugged me until I was ok. She told me to get it all out. Say what I needed to say. And so I did. She always checked in on me, even if I wasn’t on her schedule. She made it a point to make sure she got to say goodbye when I was transferred out. She is really truly an amazing person! I’m not sure what I would have done without her helping and cheering me on through it all.
