Not only has Ashlyn cared for her, played with her, and made sure she's always comfortable, but she's been her advocate as well.
Ashlyn has been an incredible nurse who has been there for our daughter, G, and us throughout this journey we're on. The first time we had Ashlyn as a nurse was after our daughter's first cardiac cath procedure. G developed a blood clot in her leg, and we had to stay 3 days in the hospital. We were blessed to have Ashlyn as G's nurse those 3 days, and she taught us so much and even showed us how to administer lovanox injections and gave us tips. She also helped me to get some much-needed rest after a day spent crying and worrying after finding out about the clot. She was so kind and so knowledgeable.
Then, after our daughter's heart surgery, we were finally moved out of the CICU after a few weeks to the next floor. I really hoped to see Ashlyn again, and much to our relief and joy, she was assigned as our daughter's nurse again. All the times she has cared for G, she has proved to be an exceptional nurse. Not only has Ashlyn cared for her, played with her, and made sure she's always comfortable, but she's been her advocate as well - telling the doctors and other nurses her recommendations based on her observations of our daughter. She takes G's best interests to heart and takes care of her and us as well. Ashlyn is such a kind, dedicated, intelligent, and compassionate person. She's always willing to answer questions and explain everything, and routinely goes above and beyond her duties. She is absolutely everything a nurse should be, and we are so incredibly grateful to Ashlyn for taking care of our baby girl.
