Kelly Gives 110% of herself to keeping our Veterans safe by listening to them and understanding their needs. She has implemented the STAR VA program on our floor educating staff with great ideas when it comes to dealing with their needs and behaviors. She really cares about each and every Vet on our floor and spends a lot of time coming up with great ideas to deal with their individual personalities needs to keep them safe and helps staff understand ways to deal with these needs to keep them calm. She is extremely compassionate about their health, safety, and emotional needs. Kelly always has time to listen and help staff to make CLC a better place for our Veterans. Kelly treats each and every Veteran with kindness and respect. She is able to notice their individual needs which are always changing by listening to our Vets and is able to make changes to their care which helps to keep them safe. She is able to advocate for them which is not easy when you have a lot of different personalities to be able to keep a calm balance on our unit.
Kelly understands the ever-changing needs of our Veterans and is very good at coming up with unique ways to make it all work on our unit to make each and every Veteran feel cared for and special. Kelly respects the needs both mentally and medically of each and every Veteran going the extra mile and it shows because our Veterans light up when they see her, our Veterans love her, and family members can feel confident that their loved ones are being treated with kindness and compassion and that their ever-changing needs are being addressed. She spends a lot of her own time running meetings from home to make sure all staff is able to be involved and keep us all informed by asking for input to make our unit run as smoothly as possible. Kelly is extremely compassionate about keeping staff educated on the newest nursing procedures and updates so our unit can give our Veterans the safest care possible. She also makes learning fun, so staff wants to attend her classes and when learning is fun you are able to comprehend and retain what you are learning. Kelly strives to keep our Vets healthy by educating them as well as staff on the importance of keeping up to date in vaccines and what it takes to prevent pressure wounds and the importance of getting up and out of their rooms for mental wellness. Our unit is a better place to work because of Kell, because she is truly a great nurse, and because of her kindness and compassion to our Veterans.
