Rudy constantly and effortlessly did what was asked of him by doctors and other staff without complaining, having supernatural stamina and maintaining the most impeccable bedside manner I or my wife have ever witnessed.
Like most difficult times in life, one of my family's darkest times came unannounced. Our daughter thankfully had an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Nothing can prepare you for an event like this, yet even during one of our darkest hours, Rudy became a shining beacon of light. Our daughter had ingested a quite large amount of pills to end her life, and such drastic measures were taken to ensure she became well once again. These measures included constant monitoring and readjustment of medications to establish the collective goal set forth by the ICU's team.
Our daughter was transferred from the ER to the PICU around 10 AM. From the minute we were taken from the ER to the PICU, the staff transporting our daughter stated Rudy would be our daughter's nurse and that she was in good hands. I would be lying if I didn't say that statement sounded like generic reassurance to provide a sense of relief. Little did we know that our daughter couldn't have had a better Nurse at her side. During the span of what seemed an eternity, Rudy constantly and effortlessly did what was asked of him by doctors and other staff without complaining, having supernatural stamina and maintaining the most impeccable bedside manner I or my wife have ever witnessed. We’ve never seen someone be so diligent, compassionate, and effective as him. This man is the epitome of selflessness, always smiling, explaining and simplifying medical terms, and most importantly keeping our daughter calm by explaining what was going on around her. Looking back at the events it is now clear to us how much of a keystone he is in his duties and to his department. We will forever be grateful to him and his Herculean efforts to ensure his patients are healthy enough to leave his care.
