She was on the vent and couldn't speak but Melissa knew what my mom was feeling and needing.
The first day Melissa was my mom's nurse in the CICU she knew exactly what my mom needed and found ways to communicate with her. She was on the vent and couldn't speak but the nurse knew what my mom was feeling and needing. My mom said, "that nurse is amazing and knows that I am sensitive to certain meds and exactly what is going on." My mom also wanted her to be in surgery with her because she trusted her so much. Melissa even stopped in the morning of surgery to boost her confidence and wish her well. I will never forget how this nurse made my mom feel and us. This is the best hospital I have ever been to.
