This special nurse has sat and held the hands of patients and their families during the most difficult of times.
I started on 2 East roughly the same time as Krystal. When I switched to night shift, she was my go-to person. I have seen this special nurse grow in confidence as a nurse. She is never afraid to speak up or step in. She advocates tremendously for her patients as well as her unit and coworkers. She builds the best rapport with her patients and you can always tell they like and trust her a lot. She does not leave until she knows they are taken care of.
This special nurse makes sure families are informed. She truly does not get enough credit and recognition for the amount of work, care, dedication, and compassion she provides to her job and her patients. She is a fighter, advocate, extremely hard worker, and one of the most compassionate nurses I have met. For her to only be shortly into her career, she has become a nurse many of us call on for help and advice. She is always eager to learn a new skill or process, is currently working on her MSN. I cannot wait to see what the future brings her because she is such a phenomenal nurse and she will make an awesome leader.
Krystal is also selfless, I have seen her go after work to get a patient a milkshake because her patient was very ill and that was all that they wanted. This special nurse has sat and held the hands of patients and their families during the most difficult of times. She has a pure heart and a loving soul. Krystal should know how amazing and appreciated she truly is!!
