Rhea included me in everything and made me feel part of the team, she welcomed my opinions and always encouraged me to speak up whenever I felt something wasn’t right.
I’m one of the NICU moms specifically for L and we’ve recently been discharged. Since our discharge I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how thankful I am to the whole CHOC NICU staff especially the doctors and nurses that took care of L during our stay. All of them were amazing! They were all kind, respectful, efficient, and knowledgeable. I like how they cared for my son, paid very close attention to his needs and patterns, and they were also very kind enough to take care of me as well and make sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable during my daily visits.
Rhea became our constant nurse since she signed up for L. She was the admitting nurse too. Rhea is hands down the best. She was on top of everything, she’s snappy, super-efficient, and effective, she’s always 2 steps ahead and took really good care of L. On the days she was on duty but wasn’t assigned to L we were honestly very sad. Ha-ha! She gave the best and complete updates whenever I came in to visit and she explained everything thoroughly. She was the only nurse aside from Christine who offered to teach me how to do things in preparation for going home even when we were far from it at that time and I appreciated it so much! She included me in everything and made me feel part of the team, she welcomed my opinions and always encouraged me to speak up whenever I felt something wasn’t right. I believe she was supposed to be on duty the day we were getting discharged, but I think she was one of the nurses that got canceled that day. How I wish I could have thanked her and Christine too. All the nurses were great, but these two ladies stood out the most for me. They did a really good job and I felt their passion for nursing. We’ve considered them not just our nurses but also our friends.
