Afton immediately greeted me, a spring breeze blowing away my troubles. As she gently but firmly took control, my spirit lifted.
The remarkable nurse is Afton Retterer. This woman exhibits leadership skills that are extraordinary. Her can-do attitude was a godsend. She stepped in, took control, and relieved me of any burden I felt I carried. Following an arduous day of challenges, I arrived for my morning infusion. I was tired, a bit distressed, and somewhat muddled. She immediately greeted me, a spring breeze blowing away my troubles. As she gently but firmly took control, my spirit lifted. She explained how my morning would look. An x-ray. An infusion. Removal of a misbehaving pic-line. Afton was a glorious fountain of clarity and care. I felt protected. And more than anything, I felt the easing of my need to make decisions. She had this. She would lead me - kindly, informatively through all the next steps. Afton spiritually held my hand.
