Amber is far more than a nurse, she is an exemplary human being and brings all of her heart and all of her compassion to each patient interaction.
Amber is a developing nurse in the second year of her career. As I have watched her grow from new grad to confident floor RN, what has impressed me the most is her absolute devotion to the most vulnerable of our patients, those under BHIP care. Time and time again I have been pulled aside by family members who, despite going through one of the hardest times of their lives, watching a loved one die, take the time and energy to make sure that Amber's devoted nursing care is recognized. She goes that extra mile to make sure our hospice patients are as comfortable as possible, while also remembering that the hospice families are also our patients and need the same time and attention that their loved ones do.
Most recently she worked tirelessly to bring comfort to a well-loved patient whose family was known to staff through multiple admissions. They recognized me as charge nurse and pulled me aside to tell me that she was an angel and that they never could have made it through this hospitalization without her. In my eyes, Amber is far more than a nurse, she is an exemplary human being and brings all of her heart and all of her compassion to each patient interaction. We are honored to call her 3A core staff.
