Beatrice demonstrated empathy through her exceptional bedside manner and her strong communication skills.
I would like to recognize my nurse, Beatrice who demonstrated exemplary care during the two days that I was under her care. It was my first time in the hospital and I was very nervous about being admitted. She reassured me that I did the right thing by coming to the hospital as soon as I started experiencing symptoms. She constantly came to check on me every hour and sometimes more often than that! I know that the cardiac telemetry unit is very busy and every time I pushed the call light she would immediately come to my room and greet me with a kind caring smile always ready to help me. Beatrice made it a priority to keep my daughter up-to-date every few hours over the phone about everything that was going on including my need for increased oxygen and a chest x-ray that was ordered by my doctor. She never appeared to be rushed, was constantly attentive to my needs, and took the time to listen to me. She always treated me with kindness and respect. She demonstrated empathy through her exceptional bedside manner and her strong communication skills. I am not familiar with medical terminology and Beatrice made sure to explain things to me in a way that was easy for me to understand. When there was a medication that was prescribed to me that I did not know about Beatrice took her time to explain to me what that medication was used for its side effects and she even provided me with a medication teaching tool that I can refer back to! I know that her valuable skills will continue to work in her favor and she will continue to be a blessing to other patients as she was to me. I am confident that she will get far in her career with her valuable attributes and everything she has to offer as a nurse.
