Rebecca explained every process and took the extra time to not only be an exceptional nurse but to go beyond the compassion boundaries and talk to us out of genuine love and concern.
All of the nurses have been so very great. I love you all. It’s been very emotional and scary, sometimes the stages have been very difficult. One nurse in ICU at the time of extubation and not knowing the severity of my mother’s condition really helped my wife and me understand what was going on. Rebecca Harb was our RN. She was so kind and gentle. She took the time to explain when she knew we were scared or didn’t understand. She kept Mom clean and comfortable and even called me at home at night to report my mother’s condition when I couldn’t be there. Rebecca experienced similar circumstances with her mother’s struggle with cancer and explained options like hospice and palliative care, and as you know, this is a very challenging time of choices: to go with chemo or comfort care. Rebecca talked to us about the route she and her mother took. It was very calming and reassuring that my mother would not be in pain and she explained how the process works. The Lord placed Rebecca in our lives and the lives of others each and every day. She is a real hero who makes a real difference in this world full of pain and uncertainty. There is so much more to say about how Rebecca explained every process and took the extra time to not only be an exceptional nurse but to go beyond the compassion boundaries and talk to us out of genuine love and concern. Thank you Rebecca for this time with Mom during her last days facing cancer. We will never forget you or the impact you had helping us through such a scary time and painful chain of events.
