Carolyn taught her games such as “The Hokey Pokey” and “Patty Cake.” She was calmer and less anxious the rest of the shift.
Carolyn is the best nurse. We all love to work with her because she has a great attitude, is always happy, always helpful. But yesterday Carolyn went above and beyond to care for a patient. The patient is developmentally delayed and has been in the hospital for a long time and gets really lonely. Carolyn taught her games such as “The Hokey Pokey” and “Patty Cake.” She used the iPad to show her videos of the games which delighted the patient. She was calmer and less anxious the rest of the shift. This is so typical of how Carolyn cares for her patients. She cares not only for their bodies but spiritually and emotionally too. Carolyn teaches all of us how to be better nurses.
