Anytime my son was in pain, Alana was there offering opinions and support and brainstorming what could be upsetting him.
Alana is one of the best nurses that has cared for my son. Anytime I have expressed concerns or was upset, Alana was there each time to talk to me and go over other options. When I was very upset with conversations about my son’s discharge and home care, Alana came in and sat with me. We discussed my fears and concerns. She then went to our care team doctors and let them know more in-depth of my concerns about being discharged. She made certain they came back and discussed further at-home procedures and options. It’s not easy feeling rushed out of the hospital and not heard. Alana made sure our voice was heard and validated. Anytime my son was in pain, Alana was there offering opinions and support and brainstorming what could be upsetting him. She helped 100% of our recovery process. Alana made us feel safe and in exceptionally knowledgeable hands. This floor is very lucky to have her. No matter how rough the day is or how complicated the situation, she’s been very pleasant and with a smile every time we see her. Her number one priority was his care here in the hospital as well as our discharge/home procedure. And my son, if and when we return, would be pleased to have her as our nurse again.
