Eileen did everything with precision, care, safety, and sterility when needed. Emotionally, I could never thank Eileen enough for her support in helping our family through this trauma.
How do I put into words what Eileen did for my daughter and our family? She took such great care of my daughter. She is on a keto diet and Eileen went out of her way to go buy her some keto-friendly toothpaste, soap, and she made her lotion with some lavender in it because Eileen noticed that I was using essential oils also. Eileen always had my daughter clean and comfortable. She also went out of her way and surprised me, putting my child in PJs for the first time on about day 27-ish in the PICU. I loved seeing my daughter in clothes; she just looked so much more comfortable. Eileen didn’t have to get my child those PJs but she did, and I was very appreciative. Eileen took such great care of my daughter that she put us as parents at ease. Eileen was able to deal with both dad and me, who have completely different personalities, and she put us both at ease. She made sure to take the time to educate us on the trach and anything else we needed to know. She always came into the room with a positive attitude but also comforted me on rough days. Eileen played music for my daughter to calm her down at night. She noticed every detail about my daughter and she made it an effort to remove anything that wasn’t doing something productive so my child would be more comfortable. While other nurses struggled to cath my daughter, Eileen had no problem. Eileen did everything with precision, care, safety, and sterility when needed. Emotionally, I could never thank Eileen enough for her support in helping our family through this trauma. She is a forever friend and blessing to our family. To say that she went over and beyond the job description would be an understatement. She exuded love, joy, and caring. You can see she loves her job, life, and people. Thank you, Eileen. PS – even after we left the PICU and moved to the west side, Eileen came to check on us and our little girl.

Eileen was a fantastic nurse. She was so detailed, so gentle, calm, comforting, and so thorough. Eileen double-checked everything. She was in our room for the perfect amount of time. She had a night with me and a night with my husband and I sure appreciate her helping him through the night. He can be a handful at times, so I appreciate her and all that she did to answer his questions and involve him in my daughter’s care. Thank you, Eileen.
