The staff on duty never hesitated and cared for the officers in a manner that eased their fears and concerns as well.
I would like to take a minute to once again recognize the medical staff at the Tom Green County Jail for their assistance and outstanding display of teamwork. We had a major incident at the facility which resulted in injuries to 3 of our officers. When the event began, medical staff readied themselves with the emergency bags with first aid supplies, in the event that it became necessary. As the incident began to escalate, the medical staff prepared the medical department and waited to receive any injured persons. As the administrator of the facility, the health and safety of the staff weigh heavily on my mind at all times. Knowing that the competent, passionate medical staff was ready and willing to care for our injured staff eased my worries substantially and allowed me to concentrate on quelling the issue. The staff on duty never hesitated and cared for the officers in a manner that eased their fears and concerns as well. No words I can type could ever express the gratitude and admiration that I have for the medical staff here at the facility. I would like to recognize the medical staff members for their compassion, readiness, and the outstanding medical care they provided during the event, and at all times.
