Alexis advocated hard for them to be reassessed by NICU and thank goodness she did.
I had a very long, difficult labor and delivery with my twins. I was very uncomfortable and Alexis went out of her way to do what she could to make it more tolerable for me. Then, once my twins were delivered, things got even more difficult. It was originally decided that neither needed NICU time, even though they were born at 36 weeks 2 days. Shortly after returning to our recovery room, our boys started going downhill quickly. Alexis advocated hard for them to be reassessed by NICU and thank goodness she did. By the end of the night, both were experiencing hypoglycemia and hypothermia. She stayed with me and one of our twins while my husband went to the NICU with our other boy. I was so confused and scared from the medication I was on and her presence and help made all the difference. I’m so grateful to her.
