Shondi was so very supportive of my daughter and verbally walked her through each procedure before it happened, which was beneficial in keeping my daughter calmer.
My daughter was admitted to PMC during the Global CoVid-19 Pandemic, and she was also awaiting those very same test results while being treated for another condition. We were taken to a negative pressure unit where Shondi was the only nurse permitted to have contact with me or my daughter. She answered every question and comforted me when I was close to an emotional breakdown from all the worry that lay before us. I was alone, without my family or any of my normal support structure, watching a child that was normally bubbly and vibrant lay there despondently.
Shondi was so very supportive of my daughter and verbally walked her through each procedure before it happened, which was beneficial in keeping my daughter calmer. Shondi made sure that any food or necessary items such as clothing or work supplies were delivered to me personally without hesitation. I cannot sing her praises enough. She was diligent in tracking down the pending results from another facility and when those results came back negative, she celebrated with us! She was the sunshine during a very scary and unsure time of my daughter's life. She was professional and compassionate. She made sure that I was aware of any schedule changes with staffing, and she genuinely cared for the well-being of my child. She is the model of strong leadership and again, I can't thank her or PMC enough for going the extra mile to make sure that both my daughter (the patient) and myself (the parent) were taken care of in every capacity. She entered that room every time unsure of the potential danger that she herself was in and she did so without hesitation. She is a true hero and I'm grateful for her care.
