Jade was my rock and was able to ground me enough for me to believe I would get through my ordeal
I went to Memorial Regional Hospital ER for chest pain and shortness of breath. I am a cardio patient with 8 prior stents before moving to the Richmond area. I came through the Memorial Regional Medical Center ER to the Cath lab as I awaited my turn to be off of the blood thinners to be studied. I ultimately had a single bypass surgery. While I stayed at your facility, I had many great nurses and doctors. One stood out as she was a nurse who got me through a bad place while waiting for my assigned nurse for the time remaining before I could go to the Cath lab. At some point, I experienced great physical distress and believed I was having a heart event that was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I was aware and unaware all at the same time. My wife was holding down the must-do’s at home and Jade was my rock. Jade wasn’t wonderment about my confusion and dopiness. She was my rock and was able to ground me enough for me to believe I would get through my ordeal. I don’t know about anyone but myself, but in a situation when you need a family tie or support, Jade rose to the occasion and had a way about her demeanor and confidence that spread to me at my time of need and gave me great resolve. We have many fantastic nurses in our world but the nurse who carried you emotionally can’t be minimized or forgotten.

After almost a year later when I recall my event, my wife and I will always remember and be grateful for a special nurse called Jade Ralph. She will be with me as long as I am blessed to be alive. A simple “Thank you” isn’t enough, Jade. We’ve been through the unhealthy and vulnerable side of health crisis and we need the Jades of this world to make us whole both physically and emotionally. Her compassion is above what we expected and is welcomed in our time of need. It’s people like Jade and her human compassion that make Regional Memorial stand out.
