Carla does not have to risk her own life to comfort the sick, but day in and out she continues to come to One West and touch the lives of so many COVID patients.
Two years of providing care to COVID-19 patients has taught us many lessons about what it takes to take to provide care in such difficult circumstances. On One West the staff have risen to the challenge and through thick and thin have done an amazing job in healing the sick. Some wounds are not so visible, the mind needs to be cared for just as much as the physical body. Being alone and vulnerable in a hospital ward will dampen anyone’s spirits.

One individual has made it her personal goal to touch the lives of our sick COVID members and try to help soothe the soul of the patients she visits. Her name is Carla Wolf. Carla does not have to come to the COVID unit and speak with the patients about their lives and the unsurmountable struggles they endure. It is not easy to listen to such sorrow without letting it affect you, but she does it anyway. Carla does not have to risk her own life to comfort the sick, but day in and out she continues to come to One West and touch the lives of so many COVID patients. In a place where so many others are afraid to visit and avoid at all costs, Carla has placed herself in the middle of the storm and has made a difference for the staff on the unit as well as the patients she touches. Carla leads through her actions of courage and determination that are truly inspiring and heroic. The time Carla spent with us on One West is treasured and never forgotten. Thank you for being here for our patients and our unit. We are blessed to have you with us. One West.
