Melanie was right there and got the mask off instantly so my mother wouldn't aspirate.
I would like to say how much I appreciate what Melanie Wilson did for my mother last night. I truly believe God used her to save my mother's life. When I was first allowed into the ER after about an hour waiting, my mother had been brought by ambulance but they were trying to stabilize her so I couldn't go back. They were going to move my mother to another room in the ER.
Others had tried to get an IV in my mother but weren't able to get it in. I thought they must have called in a nurse who specialized in getting in IVs, that was Melanie, who was able to get the IV in. I believe that having fluids from the IV brought my mother's blood pressure on the way back up from a very life-threatening point. My mother started vomiting into the BiPAP mask and Melanie was right there and got the mask off instantly so my mother wouldn't aspirate. She stayed right "on it" helping my mother as she vomited several times. She then held her head so to stabilize her and help her breathe I am so thankful for Melanie Wilson being her nurse last night she was a lifesaver! Superhero Nurse! Melanie did an amazing, wonderful job; so much more than I can write down!
