Sara was able to help this patient through some physical discomfort and pain while performing some necessary tasks.
First, let me say that all the RNs I work with on MBU are amazing! But today I witnessed a nurse give her entire bit of strength, caring, empathy, love, and kindness to a patient and their family who was working through the loss of their infant. Sara met their every need along with going above and beyond her duties. She always had a soft approach when entering their room with a very sweet tone to greet them and let them know she was there for them! Sara was able to help this patient through some physical discomfort and pain while performing some necessary tasks, talking them through it with a kind approach, and explaining everything that had to be done. This sort of thing is hard on us as caregivers, she kept it together and was still able to sympathize with them, still able to care for them with all she is. But also, able to help them reason through some of the difficult decisions that had to be made. Sara is a strong and caring person always, but today she was the epitome of what all nurses should be and what our future nurses should strive to be!
