Aaron went above and beyond his role. He stayed for almost two hours and helped us try to settle this patient.
On this day, a very critically ill patient was admitted from the cath lab to the ICU. This patient was very sick- had a SWAN, IMPELLA, required high doses of multiple pressors, and required multiple blood products. Four ICU nurses were in this room attempting to stabilize the patient. Aaron went above and beyond his role. He stayed for almost two hours and helped us try to settle this patient. He helped us check blood and obtained two more points of IV access which was desperately needed. Aaron genuinely cared about the well-being of this patient. He absolutely could have left after safely transferring the patient to ICU. Instead, he saw that the ICU team needed help with this very sick patient, and actively chose to step up to help. Aaron was absolutely amazing. And we legitimately needed a fifth pair of hands.
