Adelita Cheadle was nominated for going above and beyond for a patient on the Telemetry unit. The patient was homeless and was known for playing his ukulele at the pier to earn money. The patient was admitted for stroke and was very upset that he had lost his possessions, especially his ukulele. Adelita went out of her way on her day off to contact the ambulance company and the police in an attempt to find this patient’s belongings. Once they were located, Adelita drove to collect and bring his belongings back to this patient. The patient was very happy to have his belongings, stating, "I will figure out how to play again the ukulele with my right hand." To many, his possessions may seem unnecessary, but they were his world, and he was so grateful to get them back. Words can't explain Adelita's warm and big heart, she always does the little things to bring joy back to her patients whenever possible.
