When Tanya was at the bedside, we knew we could trust that our mother was getting the best care possible. Her actions made me feel like she truly cared.
My mother had a heart attack. She was a patient in the CVICU for three weeks when she transitioned to hospice. While my brother and I felt like our mother received excellent care during her stay at Blake, there was one nurse who stood out and made a profound impact on our lives. Tanya B was an angel sent to us. We requested Tanya to be Mom’s nurse as often as possible and looked forward to seeing her at the bedside. Tanya was incredibly attentive to our mother. She was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. She was able to answer all of our questions and did so with grace. She spoke to our mom in a clear and kind manner each time she needed to tend to her care whether she was awake and alert or intubated and sedated. When Tanya was at the bedside, we knew we could trust that our mother was getting the best care possible. Her actions made me feel like she truly cared. I have worked in the hospital setting for the past 10 years. I understand the stress that staff are experiencing as a result of COVID 19. Despite this stress, Tanya B never wavered from providing compassionate care to our mother and my family.
