Victoria put the needs of the patient and family ahead of her own and stayed over to carry out this difficult task and support the family while doing so.
Victoria exhibits all of the traits associated with the mission, vision, and values. I have never encountered a more trying circumstance than what we are facing with the resurgence of COVID and the Delta variant. Victoria has consistently been a rock star for our patients.
I witnessed something I want to pass on. Victoria Hull came over to talk with another employee before going home from her night shift. She had been caring for a patient whom we were extubating to comfort care right near shift change. Victoria could have easily passed this on to the oncoming shift, but instead, she put the needs of the patient and family ahead of her own and stayed over to carry out this difficult task and support the family while doing so. She ended up being here well over two hours past the end of her shift before she finally went home.
Times are obviously tough right now, some of the worst that has been seen and as her leader, I am not entrenched in this daily crush that the south emergency nurses all are. In a time when every single person is completely worn out and drained; Victoria went above and beyond. In the big scheme of things with everything going on with the pandemic, this might not seem like much, but to that one patient and their family, it meant everything. Please recognize her for her act of kindness.
