The patient had not been able to talk to his mother since leaving his country, and Mollie's efforts made a huge difference in his care.
Mollie went above and beyond to find interpreter services for a patient who spoke a dialect of a language we were unable to find using our standard interpreter services. After multiple discussions with House Supervisor that was unproductive in finding an interpreter, she spent several hours and multiple conversations with Cyracom to find an interpreter. Because of her dedication to providing patient-centered care, she was able to reunite a mother in a foreign country with her son, a patient in the IPU. The patient had not been able to talk to his mother since leaving his country, and Mollie's efforts made a huge difference in his care. I was so impressed by her perseverance and dedication to making sure the patient was able to speak to his mother. Every time I work with Mollie, she exemplifies what it means to be a nurse and she is so appreciated in the IPU.
