Megan was calm and confident, very skillful in her practice.
My wife recently underwent a procedure, and she had several unfortunate intraoperative complications. I am an employee here at UWHC, however, my hospital experience didn’t make anything easier when I was on the “other side” of healthcare. Watching my spouse decompensate, I found myself feeling helpless. Upon transfer to a higher level of care, I was told that Megan was going to take care of my wife as her patient. I work with Megan and know she is a great nurse and I trusted her, so I immediately felt relieved. I was even more impressed with her as I watched her alongside other nursing staff help stabilize my wife.

Megan was calm and confident, very skillful in her practice. She had great communication with a variety of medical teams, and she knew the plan well. She was protective of my wife as well. My wife has no significant past medical history, so the experience was very frightening for her. As a young woman, she was also embarrassed from time to time about the care that she required. Megan was so kind and made her feel better both physically and emotionally during the tough times. I knew Megan was busy with other patients too, but she always gave my wife the time and attention she needed. That meant a lot to me knowing that my wife wasn’t alone when I had to leave the hospital to take care of our little boy.

Megan kept me in line and made sure I was taking care of myself too, which I needed, and appreciated her humor. My wife slowly improved and stabilized under several days of Megan’s watchful eye. Due to Megan and the rest of the excellent staff, she is home and recovering well. There were a lot of people that helped care for my wife and for that we are grateful, and Megan is the caregiver that we would like to recognize and say Thank You!!
