April works hard for all our patients every day she’s at work. She is very compassionate.
I have worked with April Martin for the past two years. She cares for our patients as if they were her family members. April is very detailed in her work to a fault. Whenever she is in our room, I know the patient is well cared for. I can now just concentrate on surgery. She always speaks up and is a great advocate for patients. I have never seen her take the easy way out. She treats every patient, from the uncomplicated to the complex patient the same. I am not nominating Nurse Martin because of specific encounters when she was nice or good. This is who she is. She works hard for all our patients every day she’s at work. She is very compassionate. She brings compassion and empathy to her job. I see the way she teaches new nurses as well. She sets the highest standards for them. I have learned a lot from watching her. She also helps new team members the fellows and the residents ease into their roles in the OR when they start. I sincerely have never worked with a nurse like April Martin before. She exemplifies the nursing profession to the highest standards.
