Throughout the day Emily worked tirelessly right alongside me, being sure our every need was met. She kept my focus, she encouraged me and she even made me feel like I was in a spa while in the middle of my labor!!
I gave birth to my daughter in March. Emily was my L&D nurse from the beginning. She was so helpful and peaceful. She kept me going through hard contractions. She was encouraging and really made my induction so much more than I could ask for. She went above and beyond. Emily was attentive, knowledgeable, thorough, approachable, and engaging. She was there to reassuringly and calmly walk us through everything in the immediate postpartum period. She was kind and understanding. She gave us the best possible experience. Emily was an integral part of one of the best days of our lives.

We welcomed our perfect baby girl in December. I went into labor in the early morning hours and Emily came on shift at 7 AM. My labor hadn’t been progressing much, but I really wanted to have a natural labor if possible. I was given another hour by the doctor to see if there would be progression in my labor before we would need to add medication. Emily knew and understood how much it meant to me to avoid medications if at all possible. She immediately had a plan to get things moving and worked diligently using different maneuvers to get the labor progressing and the baby in good positioning. And it worked! We met the goal the doctor had in place for us to continue on without any medications! Throughout the day Emily worked tirelessly right alongside me, being sure our every need was met. She kept my focus, she encouraged me and she even made me feel like I was in a spa while in the middle of my labor!! I was anxious about having a baby in a pandemic. I wasn’t expecting our little one to come at 37 weeks. I was hoping nitrous oxide would be available for pain relief, but due to Covid concerns, it wasn’t. So I really feel I went into my labor fairly unprepared for what was before me but thanks to Emily and amazing staff I was able to have my dreams come true and bring our baby girl into the world safely without the use of any medications or any major interventions. I know Emily was meant to be our nurse. She made all the difference in the world. We will be eternally grateful for her and her amazing care. We waited 7 years for our miracle baby. We are so thankful for all those that played a part in getting her into our arms.
Emily came into the delivery room when I was 8cm dilated and from that moment on she was like my birth and mama coach. While the doctor wasn’t the most personable she was there chatting and making sure I was comfortable the entire time.
Post-birth she was like my shadow continually checking on me and offering me tips and tricks on how to breastfeed, etc. When I had trouble with latching and sore nipples she made sure to call the lactation consultants to come in each time I was going to feed. She also took the baby for tests when she knew I needed a nap since I hadn’t slept in so long. I really appreciated all her tips and tricks and stories during my stay and navigating my new life.
