Milissa’s collaboration with other BayCare professionals to educate and manage the team member patient population in our BayCare system has been nothing short of amazing.
Milissa Sulick, Nurse Manager of Employee Health is the leader for a team of nursing professionals responsible for the health and wellness of all BayCare team members. Every new team member experience BayCare’s extraordinary care first with the Employee Health team as part of the onboarding process. While many team members are familiar with Employee Health through annual TB testing, influenza vaccine, and respiratory fit programs, they are also responsible for managing the care of team members related to occupational exposures including infectious disease exposures.

Milissa joined BayCare in 1999 and became the Regional Manager of Employee Health in 2015. Over the past 7 years under Milissa’s leadership the Employee Health team has prepared for, managed, and educated the BayCare team for several diseases and viruses such as Chicken Pox, Zika, and Ebola; however, COVID-19 and its reach and spread has been uncharted territory for the past year and half. Milissa’s collaboration with other BayCare professionals to educate and manage the team member patient population in our BayCare system has been nothing short of amazing. Since the onset of COVID-19, Milissa has led the Employee Health Nursing team through rapid change and updates from the CDC. She was instrumental in working with Infection Control and our Physician leaders to ensure we have proper guidance for our team members, physicians and customers. Throughout the pandemic and its multiple waves, she has re-evaluated the work performed by her team and created alternative solutions to adjust work so that the clinical team could focus on the current priorities. One example was temporarily moving health screenings to BayCare Urgent Care freeing up her team to support team members on quarantine and return to work evaluations. Milissa demonstrated her responsibility to clinical excellence and her team by working tirelessly, often late into the evening and on weekends, to answer team member questions and concerns.
