Grandpa was able to see his granddaughter walk down the aisle. Jacob was so helpful in getting that “link” to happen. What a blessing!
We were in town for our granddaughter’s wedding and we visited the ER at UnityPoint Health, St. Luke’s because grandpa appeared to be in A-fib. We got in very quickly at 10:30 in the morning and they immediately started meds to slow his heart rate down. When it became evident that he was not going to be able to leave the hospital in time for the wedding and would be kept overnight, his nurse, Jacob, was very kind and understanding and began to discuss what could be done to bring the wedding to grandpa. He gave grandma his personal phone number so things could be worked out at the church. Technology isn’t always predictable so after unsuccessfully trying grandpa’s phone (found him a charger as his phone had a low battery) and Jacob’s iPad, he ended up with Jacob’s phone, and the wedding was FaceTimed to him all the way through to congratulating the Bride and Groom in the receiving line. He was able to see his granddaughter walk down the aisle. Jacob was so helpful in getting that “link” to happen. What a blessing! Jacob went well above and beyond anything we would have expected.
