Over this past year with COVID and the many iterations of guidelines and meetings, Michele's dedication to her field and nursing has been extraordinary.
Michele has served Arkansas Children's for 36 years. She is currently in a director role managing 3 infection preventionists at AC and by proxy another at ACNW. Michele has a distinguished career as a bedside nurse who transitioned into infection prevention. She is elite in her field, serving on national committees (USNWR, CHA), published, frequently is asked to speak at national conferences, and has mentored and coached her team to have similar success. She has positioned all 4 infection preventionists to serve in a system capacity supporting both hospitals, being our best example of system-ness, encouraged them to serve across the system on committees and teams, and also they publish and present. She is a leader and role model for frontline staff frequently rounding, counseling, and coaching team members on the floors and units on best practices, allaying fears, and reinforcing decisions being made.
