I should have been depressed spending my birthday in the hospital but Erica's thoughtfulness made sure that didn't happen.
I was brought into the ER due to sudden death, I had open heart surgery with valve replacement and a pacemaker put in. This was a very scary moment in my life, once I was brought to the floor Erica was there for me and my needs including a contagious laugh that cheered me up and made me giggle every time I heard it. Over a week later, I had my birthday, I should have been depressed spending it in the hospital but Erica's thoughtfulness made sure that didn't happen, she went out of her way (no surprise) to bring me a beautiful cake and funny card. This made my day and I now have a good story to end with. I had a group of great nurses who deserve recognition but if every patient had an Erica the hospital stay would, without doubt, be more uplifting and unforgettable.
